The bearded ones from Frothy Beard Brewery are a jealous group.  They are moving in and taking over our taps on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for our first ever tap takeover at the cafe.  We are excited as the kegs will only be spewing their Zingiber Pale Ale,  A’ndale Pale Ale, Choconaut and the Sumter Street Amber.  Michael Biondi one of the three owners and brewers will be present to answer all your hops and grains related questions between steins.  cc7And yes last time we checked he had not got caught up in all the razor shaving mail order biz that seems to be the new internet ad wave.

To get the body hoppin, we are excited to bring back Chris Compton as our special musical guest who will play from 7:00pm-9:00pm.  Chris will bring his own songs to our cafe in an ALT folksy rawking way.  K. Peterson from Free Times says this of Chris: “Compton is one of Columbia’s great, enigmatic singer-songwriters. In contrast to any number of conventional folk singers, Compton rarely relies on traditional structures or typical subject matter. Instead, melody-heavy guitar playing and a tendency toward unorthodox song structures prevail. Think Badly Drawn Boy and Harry Nilsson mixed with some indie rock band from the ’90s that you’ve never heard of.”  You can find out more about Chris here.

WANT more?  This is where it gets really exciting.  We will incorporate those beers into our food!  We will have some vegan beer cheese doused with the Jalapeno Cilantro Ale.  We will make our own vegan hot dogs steamed with the Ginger Pale Ale and then smoked (under 100 degrees).  Hot Dog choices will be:

  • The Mexicana covered with salsa, guacalmole, cashew sour cream, and beer cheese
  • The Chicagan covered with pickled cukes, peppers & onions, tomatoes, celery salt, & mustard
  • The GLC Slaw layered with BBQ slaw, onions, beer cheese, and Sumter Amber Vegan Chili

Complements will be Thai Tater Tots covered in Cashew Sour Cream, Beer Cheese, and Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce, Jicama “Potato” Salad, Kale, Fruit, BBQ Slaw

Then there will be a dessert infused with the Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.

Pints will be $4.00 and flights $8.00 all night long and during the five o’ clock shadow time of 5-6, food will be 10% off.
